Breadcrumb trails

I came across your Thrale site through the mention on the Genuki newsletter, which I receive due to my genealogy interests. I struggle to make our web page look reasonably professional with my limited knowledge of HTML and whatever resources I can lay my hands on. Thus I was fascinated by your exquisite site that so beautifully illustrates what simplicity and clear thinking can achieve. It makes me what to start all over again and redesign what I have only just posted - my efforts seem so outdated and cumbersome compared with yours!

On one page you mention the use of a breadcrumb trail and I think this would be a logical addition to our pages. I wonder if you could possibly point me in the right direction to be able to find the code I would need to create my own trail? Many thanks in advance and keep it up.

Thank you for your kind comments about Thrale.com. Breadcrumb trails require a script to make them work. My breadcrumb trail uses PHP and will therefore only work for your site if your host supports PHP. If your host supports PHP let me know and I will send you my breadcrumb script along with an explanation of how to get it working.

If your host doesn't support PHP don't despair! There are other ways of doing it mainly with Javascript. If you haven't got PHP support let me know and I will try to get you going with Javascript. If you aren't sure if your host supports PHP, you will have to look this up on their website or give them a ring.

Do let me know either way. If you like I'd be happy to look at your site and give you some suggestions & recommendations. If you would like me to do this, just send me the address of your website.
