More clues needed please
Barry. Since you wrote I have managed to really expand the Thrale family tree. It would help me to work out where you might fit into the family tree if you could tell me - if you know it) your grandfathers name (on your dads side) and where the lived were born. Any other names like brothers and sisters for your father or grandfather would also be helpful.
Was your uncle Alfie, Alfred Alexander Thrale, born 1893 in St Albans? If so that means that our grandfathers are brothers. If so I'd love to be able to share information with you. If not I'll keep looking.

Three possible Alfred Thrale individuals
Alan. I'm really pleased to hear from you.
I know from some recent research that there are a whole group of Thrale's that are / were based in the Woolwich area. I am very keen to find out how they link into the main Thrale family tree. I'm sure that together we will crack it!
The family tree has three Alfred Thrales. Two of these cannot be your father - one was born recently and another was born in 1893. However, the third Alfred, was son of (forename unknown) Thrale from Plumstead London who married Elsie Utting. Together they had two children, Alfred Thrale and David Eric Thrale. Is this your family? If so have received a message from David Eric Thrale's son Barry Thrale.
Do let me know if this is where you fit in. If so, I'll update the family tree, and then we can try and work out where Alfred Henry Thrale and William Thrale fit in. If not, also let me know and I'll ask you for a bit more information to help us work out where you fit in the family tree.

Barry. I now have Alfred Alexander Thrale's birth certificate. This shows that he was born on 7 April 1893 to William Thrale and Sophia Jane Thrale nee McCulloch.
Is this your uncle?

Radway Green Ammunitions
I was just browsing and come across your site. I haven't read it yet but I'm going to now. I am also a Thrale. My granddad came from London married Elsie Utting had 3 sons, one is my dad Eric Thrale.
I have a brother Barry Thrale who I will be telling about this site. Our granddad came from Plumstead in London, last to work in Radway Green Ammunitions in the potteries where I am today.
